As a minister, you are accustomed to sharing the sacred revelation you have received through preaching and teaching, but you may not have fully considered the power of the written word to communicate your message.

Habakkuk 2:2 says, “Write the vision, make it plain on tablets” (NKJV). While books, pamphlets, and even websites may have replaced the “tablets” of old, the principle remains the same. A message inscribed is a tangible message that can be put into someone else’s hands, enabling them to move forward with new inspiration. God Himself did not leave us His Word to be passed down merely through oral traditions, but through the clear and lasting effect of the unchanging written word.

Do you do most of your studying and sermon preparation away from your computer? If so, you might have dozens or even hundreds of pages of notes that could be the foundation for a future writing project. Allow us to sort through your notes and enter the data into a computer document. We will also watch for recurring themes and patterns that will provide a good framework for your written projects.

Printed or typed text (on paper) is entered into a computer document or spreadsheet. No editing is done at this stage.

Rate Estimate: $2.50 per page or $25.00 per hour Transcription

How many sermons or teaching series do you have recorded and just sitting on the shelf of an audio library? Each of those recordings is a writing project waiting to happen! By having your sermons transcribed, your already completed message will be ready to be refined and published. Single messages make great material for smaller booklets, pamphlets, or for your website, while a series of messages can be developed into a larger manual or book. For an additional fee, we can also provide an outline of how your transcribed message might be developed.

Recorded messages submitted on cassette, CD, VHS, DVD, or digital audio files are transcribed into a computer document. No editing is done at this stage. Additional fee may apply for media handling. Digital files are preferred.

Rate Estimate: $30.00 per hour (Transcription services are billed according to standard industry rates. The standard ratio for transcription is 4:1, e.g., a one-hour recording will be four hours of transcription. A higher ratio may apply for poor audio quality, multiple speakers, thick accents, distance from the microphone, or an unusual amount of highly technical terms.) Whether working with transcribed material or writing you have developed yourself, our editing services (proofreading, light and medium copyediting, or substantive content edit) will refine and polish your words and ideas to reach their maximum potential. We will work with your schedule and devote the time necessary to develop quality written projects. As the author, you approve any and all adjustments. Your distinct ideas are our first priority.

Proofreading

Proofreading services are offered for documents in their final stage, to check for typos or formatting errors. Differs from a light copyediting service, which checks for grammar and consistency issues.

Rate Estimate: $3.00 per page
Light Copyediting

Correction of spelling, punctuation, grammar, capitalization, and minor structural errors.

Rate Estimate: $4.00 - $6.00 per page Medium Copyediting

Light editing services as described above, plus correction of structural errors, such as sentence adjustment and paragraph and sectional reorganization, resulting in logical and smooth text flow.

Rate Estimate: $6.00 - $9.00 per page Substantive Content Editing & Rewriting

Light and medium editing services as described above, plus correction of major structural errors and content weaknesses, such as lack of focus, vagueness, weak sentence style, poor transitions, and major organizational issues. Includes rewriting of text as needed. No new material is developed, researched, or added.

Rate Estimate: $10.00 - $15.00 per page

Creative Writing / Ghostwriting Services

Are you serious about getting out your message in writing, but are unable to devote the time to it yourself? Using your original concepts, text, notes, outlines, and/or transcriptions for guidance, we will create written text that fulfills your intentions for a project. Does your idea still need to be developed? After spending time praying about your project, we will utilize our state-of-the-art Bible software along with any other texts you provide to research and develop new material. As the author, you retain all rights to written material once final payment has been made.

Using author's original concepts, text, notes, outlines, and/or transcriptions for guidance, we will develop copy (written material) for your professional documents, using the appropriate terms and writing style for your intended audience. New material may be researched and developed as needed, in cooperation with the author/client. Author/client retains all rights to written material once full payment is made. Rates vary by amount of new research completed and level of technical jargon required.

Rate Estimate: $20.00 - $40.00 per page or $65.00 per hour. Contact us to request a more detailed quote for your project. Press Release Writing

Publishing a news release is a great way to let your local—and global—community know about the work your ministry is involved in, increasing your ability to acquire resources and support for your efforts. Press releases can be published on your website, in community newsletters, or through traditional press distribution. Write the vision so that those who read it may run with you!

One press release of 250-500 words (including boilerplate and summary) will be developed using information provided by the client. Service includes writing of the release and a brief summary of your organization; minor edits included upon request. Multiple or significant edits (change of story angle, a large amount of additional background information, etc.) may result in additional editing charges. Distribution of news release not included.

Rate Estimate: $150 per press release ($125 for returning clients with an already prepared template that includes company summary).

Manuscript Critique

Would you like to accept the challenge of developing a manuscript on your own? Our Manuscript Critique will provide you with a 4-6 page, straightforward analysis of your project’s strengths and weaknesses and give positive suggestions for how to improve your writing.

Rate Estimate: $75.00 Base Charge, plus $1.00 per page for first 100 pages; $0.50 for every page thereafter Project Development Consultation

Do you have so many ideas and sermons that you don’t know where to start? During a consultation session, we will brainstorm with you about how to transform an idea from its elementary conception into an ingenious strategy. Our unique approach is to go straight for the heart of your inspiration, where you will often find that seemingly unrelated ideas come together in harmony, like different instruments of the same orchestra.

Do you have a great idea for a written project, but don’t know where to start? During this service, we will consult and strategize with the author/client about how take an idea from its elementary conception and achieve its greatest potential. This service is designed for the person who is passionate about his or her ideas and inspiration for a project and seeks to maximize its impact.

Rate Estimate: $85.00 per hour Vision & Mission Statement Development

According to Habakkuk 2, the first step upon receiving a vision is to write it down. Is the vision for your ministry and/or the ministries you oversee written down in a way that articulates its full potential? Don’t underestimate the power of a well-written mission statement and vision document to keep you and those around you on a focused course toward your goals and away from unnecessary tasks that waste time and resources. Your staff, church members, and supporters will be empowered to run with you toward your goals once your vision has been thoroughly spelled out.
